It's a cheap (and probably noisey) ENG mixer with onboard (iPod) backup!
It's limited to 16bit/44kHz today, but I think it shows what you can do when you can't afford anything from Sound Devices .... http://www.sounddevices.com/products/7.htm
A few casual remarks:
1) Reminds me of an old Tascam 4-track I had back-in-the-day.
2) Interesting find. When I think Belkin, I think KVM's, not audio mixers. I'll definitely keep an eye out for reviews of this product. At only $250, you probably get what you pay for...
3) I agree with you regarding Sound Devices. I have one of their mic preamps and I love it.
I use one of those. Uavailable in the UK so I bought it via eBay in the USA and had to pay customs charge on top of it. But very practical things, these.
